General Program Information

Mission: The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke is committed to the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of youth, with special concern for the disadvantaged, without discrimination. The Boys & Girls Club helps youth reach their full potential in order to develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders … we serve as a vigorous advocate for their needs.

Program Description: The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke serves youth throughout the City of Holyoke with a variety of programs and in a wide range of locations. We offer programs in five core areas:

· Education and career development - homework assistance, reading programs; computer activities (website development; graphic arts: games); college visits; resume and job search programs;

· Character and leadership development - peer leader internships; Torch Club; Keystone Club;

· Sports & recreation - basketball, volleyball, swimming; board games, pool and fulsball tables; Nike Swoosh Club;

· Arts - digital photography; arts & crafts; dance classes

· Health and Life skills - nutrition; gardening; discussion groups about healthy choices

Hours of Operation:

· Afterschool Daycare Program: 2:00-5:30 afterschool and 8:30-5:30 on school closing days, vacations, summer;

· Satellite Units: 2:30-5:30 afterschool; 1:00-5:00 school closing days and summer;

· Membership Program: 5:00-8:30 P.M. Tuesday-Friday October through May

Ages Supported by Program: Youth, age 6-18
